Installing the beta#

When the public beta opens, you’ll find its TestFlight invitation on the Stickler home page. Install Apple TestFlight, open the invitation on your iPhone and follow its instructions to install Stickler.

Stickler does not require an account or payment during this beta. To update, open TestFlight, choose Stickler and use Update when a new build is available. You can also send feedback from TestFlight.

A barcode is missing#

Try searching by the product name. The catalogue is still growing, and not every pack has a record. You can contribute label photos for a missing product from the app. An internet connection is needed for lookups and photo reading.

Label photos#

Photograph the ingredients and nutrition panel clearly, keeping people and personal information out of the frame. The app explains the upload before you agree. Taking a photo alone does not upload it.

Choosing Upload and read sends those photos to the service and to Anthropic for text extraction. The resulting reading is provisional and may be incomplete or wrong. Shared catalogue changes and photo publication require review.

If a reading looks wrong, check the label photos and submit a correction rather than treating the result as confirmed. How photos and other data are handled.

A score looks wrong#

Open the product and choose Something wrong? Include the barcode and the label detail that needs correcting, or use the form above with the barcode.

To report a published shopper photo, open Something wrong? on that product and choose Report this photo. Reported photos are hidden while reviewed.

Why people get different scores#

Before your rules is the general score for the label. A must-avoid match stops a pack and it reads Avoid. A preference that misses moves it down a band. Meeting a preference never adds points.

Only select must-avoids for things you need to exclude. Everyday preferences have their own step. You can edit both through your profile; you do not have to restart onboarding.

‘Up to’ and ‘Label partly unread’ mean the record is missing something that could lower the score.

Removing uploaded contributions#

Open the profile menu, then About, privacy and support. Use the contribution-removal control to remove uploads associated with the current installation. You can also reach this page through Settings.

This removes uploaded photo files and contribution records and revokes the installation’s credential. Already published factual label information may remain in the catalogue. For older field-test uploads, contact us with the barcode and explain which contribution should be removed.

Removing the app does not send a server deletion request. Request removal of uploads before uninstalling if you want them removed. Local profiles and lists are separate from uploaded contributions.

About the app#

Stickler shows the label data it has and scores it against its stated approach and your rules. Missing data stays unknown. It does not certify food or provide medical or nutrition advice.
