Terms of use
Version 2026-09-27.
These terms are between you and Stickler (“Stickler”, “we”, “us”).
You must accept these terms before using the app. Acceptance of this version is recorded on your device.
What you are using#
Stickler shows the food label data we hold and scores it against our stated approach and the rules you choose. We make our own calls and show the basis for them. The score is not an official rating or a certification.
This is food information, not medical or nutrition advice. You decide what to buy, eat or serve.
What we cannot tell you#
Records can be missing, wrong or out of date. Recipes change. A missing ingredient or warning in our records is not an all-clear. We cannot verify the contents, condition or batch of the pack in your hand.
The app applies your selected allergy rules to the data available. It does not certify that a food is safe for an allergy or medical condition. Read the actual packaging and make your own decision; the app does not replace any advice you have been given for a condition.
Recall notices come from Food Standards Australia New Zealand. When a notice is linked to a product, we show it. That does not establish which batches are affected or prove that a product without a notice has never been recalled. The notice supplies the details.
Photos and corrections#
Send food packaging you have the right to share. Keep people and personal information out of the frame. Do not submit abusive, unlawful or unrelated material, or knowingly attach a label to the wrong product.
If you choose to upload photos, our service stores them and sends them to Anthropic to extract the label text. You can see the resulting provisional reading. A contribution does not replace the shared catalogue record until it has been reviewed. Photos are reviewed before publication.
By submitting label content, you allow us to read it, review it and use it in the product catalogue. Published factual label information can remain in that catalogue. You can request removal of uploaded photos and contribution records through the profile menu, then About, privacy and support, in the app.
We can remove content or stop accepting contributions from an installation that abuses the service. Reporting controls are available on product records and published shopper photos.
Cost and independence#
This beta includes full access without payment or a subscription. Using it does not start an automatic charge. Future paid options, if introduced, will explain their price and terms before you choose to buy them.
There are no adverts or brand payments. We do not sell personal data.
Liability#
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Updates#
Material changes to these terms require acceptance of the new version in the app.
